Looking for things to do in Connecticut? Enjoy ice cream and sunflowers? I got you. Introducing Buttonwood Farm:

Buttonwood farm has some of the BEST ice cream in eastern Connecticut. Here's a little bit of background:
This location is a farm, and there is a huge open field with vibrant sunflowers. This sunflower field is great for photoshoots and admiring the natural beauty of the Connecticut countryside.

It is great for newlywed photoshoots, especially. However, these sunflowers are only in bloom for a short period of time. After they die off, the cows on the farm are let loose into the fields to eat up all the dead sunflowers. These cows are the same cows that are milked to make the ice cream.

That's why their ice cream is fresh, smooth, and delicious! I've had ice cream at a few spots in eastern Connecticut and, in my opinion, this is the best ice cream in eastern Connecticut.
From almond coconut to bubble gum and beyond, the list of flavors is extensive. With over 50 flavors, you can check out the full list here!
Located in Griswold, Connecticut, Buttonwood farm is a must-visit place. However, keep in mind that their sunflowers are only in bloom for a short period of time in the year, so make sure to keep up on their Instagram account to stay up-to-date on the sunflower status.
